Rosary Triduum: October 7, 8 & 9
Please join us for the Rosary Triduum Thursday, Friday & Saturday beginning at 7:00 PM. We will pray the Rosary and the Rosary Triduum prayer, followed by Holy Mass and the Night Prayer of the Church. Our preacher will be Fr. Pius Pietrzyk, O.P. There will be no 7:15 AM Mass on any of these three days. Before entering the Dominican Order, Fr. Pius attended law school at the University of Chicago. Upon graduation, he worked in the field of corporate and securities law for the Chicago-based law firm of Sidley & Austin. In that time he discerned a vocation to the priesthood and left the practice of law to enter religious life. He entered the Dominican Order, Province of St. Joseph as a novice in 2002, and was ordained to the priesthood in 2008. He currently serves as Parochial Vicar in St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Zanesville, OH. On June 25th of this year, Fr. Pius was accorded the special honor of being appointed, subject to approval by Congress, by President Barack Obama as a member of the Board of Directors of the Legal Services Corporation, a non-profit corporation that is the single largest provider of civil legal aid for the poor in the nation. |

SEARCH FOR LIVING WATERSDominican Nuns Reflect on Contemplative Spirituality If God speaks a word, it is because he desires to reveal,to communicate, to walk with usin the garden he creates with us.The search is our response to God's desireThus, life is a desire and a search - God's and ours. This book is a thanksgiving to God for 800 years. It tells of a journey, an adventure:how contemplative women see living waters, not only for themselves but for all. Each article is a reflection on contemplative lifein its ascetic, mystical and communitarian dimensions. The articles given are a small selection from Dominican Monastic Searchwhich began in 1980 as a journalsponsored by the Dominican Nuns of the United Statesto foster contemplative life by the sharing of insightsgained from prayer and study. Come to the waters (Is 55:1).We walk with all in need and who search.Joy awaits us. God's desire is present, passionate, persistent- a desire never diminished. You are invited to join the search and know the joy.
